There's something about beginnings that makes people different. They get a fresh start: new attitude, new smile, new outlook. Classmates grow physically, emotionally, and mentally, and every summer that ends in a new school term brings with it new gossip and invites excitement.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens its gates again for the new term. Headmistress McGonagall runs the school with as much ease and humor as the previous Headmaster (though she may be a bit stricter!) and welcomes the new first years, welcomes back the returning students, and launches into her Start of Term Announcements.
The emphasis this year is interhouse relationships. And what better way to show the strength of those bonds than through a school-wide competition? Yes, this year the Houses of Hogwarts will not only be competing for the House Cup... They will also compete to show who has the courage, wit and cunning to complete their tasks, and the loyalty to stand behind their chosen heroes, embodying the four virtues Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Hufflepuff stand for respectively. This competition has the potential to strengthen interhouse relationships... or dash them to pieces.
And what happens when the Houses of Hogwarts finally find common ground, uniting and finding in each individual the same courage, wit, ambition and loyalty? And what happens when the currently delicate balance of ruthless cunning, wreckless bravery, undeniable cleverness and complete friendship within the Houses of Hogwarts tips to one House in particular?
