Lily Evans walked slowly down the seventh floor corridor. She had just left one of the secret passages and was looking around to figure out where she was. Seeing the portraits and the various statues she knew the floor she was on. It was the seventh floor corridor. The highest floor when you weren't counting the towers. Lily enjoyed the towers, but there was no secret entrance to them, and she had found the seventh floor just as enjoyable at times.
The young Gryffindor prefect moved over to one of the windows and looked down over the grounds. She stood there and wondered silently what would it be like if she had her sister with her. Petunia was her closest friend before Severus. But there had been a rift between them since Dumbledore told her that she wasn't allowed at Hogwarts. How she missed her sister. Lily could remember spending hours talking to Petunia as if there was no one else in the world worth talking to. She pondered these thoughts for what seemed like hours. Who said Ravenclaws could be the only smart ones.
Lily looked down and saw the other students she silently wondered what they were thinking of. She had found himself wondering of such things over the passing days. Perhaps in another year of life she had grown more intelligent. Perhaps not and she was just bored. The Gryffindor didn't bother with this thought for too long. She looked to his left as he heard a faint tapping of footsteps. "Who goes there?" she called to the empty hall. There was a few minutes when the girl believed she was simply hearing things. There was no reply. Then she turned her attention back to the small dots moving around in the autumn air.
